Internet expert András Nyirő has a full-time job as an phone application–developer, and at the meantime is studying to become an agricultural engineer on a correspondence course at Szent István University. He became acquainted with lavender and syrup-making during his studies in France in the early nineties, and later started lavender cultivation based on this knowledge. After inheriting his grandparents’ house in Kesztölc, at the foot of the Pilis hills near Esztergom, he is now planting lavender on over 2 hectares after an experimental year.

András makes use of lavender in many different ways: besides syrups he also produces honey and vinegar matured on lavender beds, lavender seasoning salt and even makes scented candles using lavender.
