Vegetables

Zoltán Dézsény and his wife Judit graduated from the Szent István University of Gödöllő to become an environmental management agricultural engineer. Zoltán is currently working part time at the Hungarian Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (ÖMKI). In 2013, following a number of university research activities, professional training in Transylvania, a scholarship in the USA and a few years in state administration, they decided to move to a small village called Terény in Nógrád county and start organic farming. Main aim of the company is to create value based on the local resources.

Their qualified organic farm concentrates on vegetable cultivation on a 0,5- hectare open-field and in a greenhouse environment of 1,000 m2, producing 20-25 different vegetables cultivated mainly by hand. Among these vegetables a number of traditional and land varieties can be found. Beyond the ecological technology the added unique character of this farm is the experimentational, research-based attitude of the owners. Their main products are available in the Házikó range also: aubergine, paprika, tomato, green pea, Jerusalem artichoke, sweet potato.

Among their plans for the future they have the expansion of the production capacitiy of the farm and developing a showroom/training base.
