Honey

József Bácskai, beekeeper (apiarist) has been dealing with beekeeping for 10 years, is currently working with 120 bee colonies. He is a migratory beekeper following the flowering of lime to Esztergom, European (sweet) chestnut to Pilismarót, acacia back home to Dunavarsány, and finally to Nógrád with his bees to follow the late flowering season.

Managing his bees humanely, making sure that his bee colonies have enough honey to survive the winter months. He uses home made solutions to cure bee illnesses with minimal medicine usage.

Besides the honey Házikó also uses for sweetening purposes, pollen, propolis and royal jelly is also sold. Products are sold in part online, and also at the Óbuda Market and the Szimplakerti Farmers’ Market on a weekly basis.
