Házisajt – Hortig Rezső és Bertók Zsuzsa
Diary products, cow cheese
The dream of Rezső Hortig, originally a building contractor, and Bertók Zsuzsa,
working as a clothing industry trainer became a reality in 2008, when they purchased their homestead in Lajosmizse which serves as the base for the family farm today. Their motivation to change lifestyle was „to seek pure foods arising from family requirements and an attempt to eat healthily”. Over time they learnt all the basics of cheese-making from their master in Körösladány.
Nowadays they obtain the fodder for their substantial livestock on their 10-hectare land and a further 10 hectares of rented land, both chemicals-free. If, however, this does not prove to be enough, the farmers using the delicate method of cultivation in Kiskunság National Park supply the missing quantity. At present the farm has 70 goats, 17 cattle, and a couple of pigs.
Their products are sold at the Rákóczi Square Market Hall and at the Szimpla Farmers’ Market on Sundays.
